Abstract

Does the question of the senior civil servants who deviate from the original goal of their formation concern, at the same level, all the members of all the major branches of the civil service? The analyze of the professional achievement of one graduates cohort from the “Ecole normale supérieure” of Saint-Cloud, Fontenay and Lyon (class of 1981-1987) reveals large variations in sectorial mobility and “professional deviation” according to their field of specialization on the one hand, and their social origin, on the other hand.
