Research fellow - CIGEV
The Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Gerontology and Vulnerability (CIGEV) opens a research position at 100% as a Research fellow. This position is conceived as bridging the gap between a postdoc and a first faculty position. Applications are open until June 30 2020.
The CIGEV (Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Gerontology and Vulnerability), created in 1992, is an interdisciplinary center of the University of Geneva. It collaborates especially with the Faculties of Medicine, Social Sciences, Psychology and Educational Sciences, Economics and Management, and with the University Hospitals of Geneva.
Since 2011, the CIGEV is also the co-leading house of The Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research LIVES « Overcoming vulnerability: Life course perspectives » (NCCR LIVES) and hosts the Geneva team of the NCCR LIVES. Research activities at the Centre focus on various aspects of ageing, vulnerability and life course, as part of an interdisciplinary approach.
The successful candidate will set up his/her own independent research team that fits into the research profile of the Center’s Gerontology Department (Director: Prof. Dr. Matthias Kliegel) comprising the 4 research axes: healthy aging, cognitive aging, vulnerable aging and digital aging.
Candidate’s profile :
PhD in gerontology, psychology, socioeconomics, sociology, demography, epidemiology (or comparable).
Active integration in an international research network.
Strong skills in English, French and (ideally) German.

- High impact publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Independent university teaching
